Universal Studios Florida: Kung Fu Panda Play Area Updates - Water Bucket Restored! (2026)

Water Bucket Restored, but Several Props Removed in Universal Studios Florida’s Kung Fu Panda Play Area

The massive water-dumping bucket atop the Kung Fu Training Camp structure has been brought back to full operation after nearly a year of being offline. This prop is part of the Kung Fu Panda-themed playground in DreamWorks Land at Universal Studios Florida.

Kung Fu Training Camp Bucket Reinstated

The bucket sits on a high exterior frame near Po Live!, inside a laundry-themed section of the area. It periodically tilts forward, sending a cascade of water across the ground and anyone in its path. You can watch the effect in action in the accompanying footage.

Since the area opened, Kung Fu Training Camp has undergone several tweaks and some effects have been nonfunctional. One of the bamboo towers beneath the bucket has been missing since at least April of last year, with a construction box occupying its spot. While the bucket itself is back in operation, other props have been removed.

In the past, laundry hung from the horizontal bamboo beam beneath the bucket, and fans atop the towers appeared to dry the garments. Guests could also use water cannons positioned on the opposite side to spray the laundry.

Today, the clothes and the fan blades are gone, but the bamboo framework remains.

For context, here’s a recent photo of the area from DreamWorks Land’s opening in summer 2024.

Kung Fu Training Camp, which reimagined the former Curious George Goes to Town play area, originally reused the water bucket effect. Separately, the splash pad in Shrek’s Swamp has since been paved over after demolition last year, despite a brief period of operation.
