Children's Programs & Storyhours

Storyhour at PMPL

The Storyhour program consists of stories, songs, games, fingerplay and crafts. We do not pre-register for story hours, except we do appreciate if you would register for the Saturday story hours so we know how many of you are coming!!

Except for toddler lap-sitting, the storyhour programs are the same on a weekly basis.

Every summer between June and August we have our annual Summer Reading Program (SRP). Keep an eye out for postings for programs and special events.

Monday: 6:30 pm
Sleepy-time Storyhour
Children can wear their pajamas and bring a stuffed animal.
Ages 3 and up.

Tuesday: 10:30 am
Toddler Lap-sit
Toddler time is an informal interactive program with a parent of caregiver.
Toddler time prepares children for our regular storyhour program.
Ages 12 months to 3 years

Wednesday: 2:00 pm
Regular Storyhour
Ages 3 and up

Thursday: 10:30 am
Toddler Lap-sit

Policies for Story Hour

1. Our goal for story hour programs is for children to have a good time and develop early literacy skills. With your help, we can develop and nurture your child's love of books and interest in the library.

2. Story hour is a time for adults and children to participate in planned activities. If you want to chat with a friend or read a magazine, please do so outstide the story hour room. We don't want our kids to be distracted while they are listening and learning.

3. If you child is ready to sit and listen without your help in the story room, you can sit in the library away from your child. But we appreciate that you remain in the library.

With your help, we can make story time a wonderful regular event in your child's life. Please ask us if you have any questions.
